Let's try Mediterranean food at The Cafe Mediterranean!

Thursday, February 05, 2015

Hi everyone,
Before we go to my food journey let's start off with a lil bit of history/geography first. Hehehe. The name Mediterranean is derived from the Latin word mediterraneus which means "inland" or "in the middle of the land" (from medius, "middle" and terra, "land"). The Mediterranean is composed of countries with coastlines on the Mediterranean Sea from the 3 continents (Europe, Asia, and Africa connected together by the Mediterranean Sea).

Zomato and The Cafe Mediterranean, Rockwell teamed up and invited us bloggers for a foodie meetup. It's really my first time in a mediterranean-themed resto so I ended up googling. But since it's a foodie meetup, I learned more about it. The Cafe Mediterranean was built and inspired through the travels of its owners. Mediterranean food is healthy and diet-friendly, I also came into search the Mediterranean diet. hahah

The Cafe Mediterranean is a casual dining restaurant. The place is inviting and very pleasing to the eyes. I love how everything about it...the combination of colors is very warm, the tables, chairs, choice of decorations. The food is health-friendly since mediterranean food is healthy. They also use in-house sauces and dips and even their ice creams are house made. Btw, no wifi access. (I think internet connection is a necessity these days... especially, their food is instagramable! <3)

You must try their lassi mango, really refreshing. And their pizza, the Mediterrenea, you'll love it's extra thin crust yet you can still enjoy chewing it. The wide array of kebabs are there for you to try on too. The meats are tender and succulent. The taste is very distinct. And of course, everybody loves desserts. I love their panna cotta with orange twist in it and the chocolate cake with ice cream?(sorry i forgot what it's called). Their tiramisu is okay though.
