Must-try Places to Eat in Puerto Princesa

Whenever we're in a new place, we usually try the famous if not unique food places. And as part of our itinerary, we're able to try some of the known and new restaurants on our recent trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. There are many famous restaurants to try in Puerto Princesa like Ka Lui Restaurant and Kinabuchs Bar and Grill but here are some of the known and must-try places to eat out:

1. Viet Ville Restaurant
A Vietnamese restaurant that offers mid-range priced and authentic Vietnamese food cooked by a Vietnamese chef - the only Viet employee in the village. The food here is organic and this place is perfect for vegetarians. Viet Ville is located in Barangay Sta. Lourdes and takes about 15 minutes by trike from downtown Puerto Princesa. Viet Ville is an abandoned Vietnamese Village that houses displaced Vietnamese asylum seekers that were set up in 1996. (read the full post here)

2. Tiya Ising's
A newly-opened restaurant around the old town which offers sumptuous Filipino food that is situated beside the Lola Itang's Pension House and Restaurant. The restaurant is filled with memorabilia of the old city of Puerto. So if you’re looking for good Filipino food with an array of Palawan’s history, come and visit Tiya Ising’s. The prices are affordable that usually good for groups. In less than P500, definitely, you’ll have a full stomach. (read the full post here)

3. Arnold's Seafood Square
Arnold's is located along the bay walk which is kind of similar to the bay walk of manila (Roxas Blvd.) during the time of Mayor Alfredo Lim. This is a must-try since they offer fresh seafood for boodle fight packages good for the group and hungry travelers at a reasonable price. And they are serving the must-not-missed tamilok. :D
Address: Stall #3 PPC Baywalk, 5300 Puerto Princesa City, Palawan

4. La Terasse Restaurant Cafe
Managed by Ditchay Roxas, La Terrasse is a restaurant cafe that offers international cuisine, a balance of Asian and European cuisine fused with local flavors. Since it caters to foreigners, the price could be a little higher than others but reasonable. Plus, their desserts are to die for. It is situated along the main road, Rizal Avenue which is around 5 minutes from the airport.
Address: Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa

5. Ka Inato
Another Filipino restaurant nestled along Rizal Avenue, Ka Inato which means 'kain na dito' or 'eat here'. The native's theme of the restaurant was made colorful with different jars and wooden sculptures (which is kind of bul-ul figure) and accentuated with the wooden furniture and nature-fied surroundings.  What made this al fresco restaurant a unique one is that they have employees that are deaf and mute that's why you can see some basic hand signals and alphabet on the menu and also displayed around the restaurant.

Address: Rizal Avenue, Barangay Bancao-Bancao, Puerto Princesa, 5300 Palawan

It is always best to try local restaurants when you're in a new place. Not just because they give you a new and unique flavor but also you will learn somehow about how the locals live in the area.
